According to Vedic reference, in ancient times, there was a powerful demon named Chandrasura, whose tyranny brought suffering to the Devas and people. Seeking relief from his oppression, they prayed to Lord Shiva. Responding to their prayers, Shiva manifested as Chandreshwar and engaged Chandrasura in a fierce battle.
After defeating the demon, Lord Shiva restored peace and prosperity to the region. In remembrance of this divine victory, a temple dedicated to Lord Chandreshwar was established at Paroda. The sacred hill and temple have continued to be associated with this tradition for generations.

By Air: The nearest major airport is Goa International Airport (Dabolim Airport). From here, you can hire a taxi or use other local transport to reach the temple. The distance is approximately 40–45 km, depending on the route.
By Rail: Madgaon Junction (Margao Railway Station) is the nearest major railway station. From Madgaon, you can continue by taxi, bus or auto-rickshaw towards Paroda. The temple is approximately 23–25 km from the railway station.
By Road: The temple is located in Paroda village of Quepem Taluka, South Goa. Visitors travelling by road can reach the area by private vehicle or taxi. GPS and navigation applications can be used to select the most convenient route based on the starting location.
