Authorities are actively clearing heavy snow from the Kedarnath trekking route to ensure smooth access ahead of the yatra, which is scheduled to begin on April 22. To manage the large influx of pilgrims, the administration has strengthened crowd control measures and deployed CCTV cameras along with drone surveillance to enhance security.
Helicopter services to Kedarnath will be operated by eight providers, with bookings available exclusively through the IRCTC portal, ensuring a transparent and centralized system. Additionally, vehicles traveling for the yatra will be required to carry a mandatory green card.
The Chief Minister has also emphasized the use of alternative fuel options, including sawdust and coal, to support sustainable operations during the pilgrimage. Meanwhile, development and beautification work under the master plan continues in Badrinath, where temple doors are set to open on April 23.
