Lord Krishna Moves to the Phool Bangla for Summer
To provide relief from the intense summer heat, Lord Krishna, worshipped as Banke Bihari, is ceremonially placed in the Phool Bangla, a flower-adorned bungalow. This tradition creates a serene and visually stunning environment for the deity and devotees alike.
Festival Dates and Floral Arrangements
The festival begins on Kamada Ekadashi in Chaitra and continues until Hariyali Amavasya in Shravan. During this period, the temple is decorated with a mix of local and imported flowers, offering pilgrims a rich, fragrant, and spiritual experience.
Extended Duration and Special Arrangements
This year, the festival starts on March 29, 2026, featuring 274 floral bungalows. Flowers will be sourced from Mathura and Agra, and the festival duration has been extended from the usual 108 days to 138 days.
Revised Contribution System for Decorations
The temple administration has increased the contribution for sponsoring each floral decoration to ₹1.51 lakh, up from ₹15,000, to ensure transparency, revenue improvement, and better facilities for pilgrims.
Managing Devotee Crowds and Safety
With two decorations daily over four months, the festival draws lakhs of devotees. Authorities prioritize crowd management and safety, preserving the grandeur and sanctity of this cherished Vrindavan tradition.
