The much-awaited Brahmotsavams at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Vontimitta will be celebrated from March 27 to April 5, 2026. This eleven-day festival draws lakhs of devotees who gather to witness grand rituals, vibrant processions, and deep-rooted spiritual traditions.
The festivities officially begin with Ankurarpanam on March 26, a sacred ritual symbolizing the commencement of the celebrations. On March 27, the auspicious Sri Rama Navami coincides with Dwajarohanam (flag hoisting), marking the formal start of the Brahmotsavams. The celebrations conclude on April 5, following a series of significant religious ceremonies.
Located about 25 km from Kadapa, the temple is a historic monument dating back to the Vijayanagara era and is popularly known as “Dakshina Ayodhya.” The temple houses Lord Rama along with Goddess Sita and Lakshmana, revered by devotees across the region. It is also associated with the renowned Telugu poet Bammera Pothana, adding cultural and literary importance to the site.
Pre-Festival Rituals
The preparations begin with Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam (temple cleansing) on March 24, followed by Ankurarpanam on March 26. On March 27, Sri Rama Navami Asthanam is conducted, symbolizing a royal assembly of the deities.

The highlight of the celebrations is the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 1, drawing thousands of devotees and dignitaries. Other key events include the Garuda Seva and Rathotsavam, showcasing the temple’s rich traditions.
Organized by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the festival ensures smooth darshan, prasadam distribution, and crowd management, offering a well-coordinated and spiritually enriching experience.
