Hariyali Teej Celebrated in Vrindavan

Hariyali Teej is one of the most joyous festivals celebrated in Vrindavan, especially during the holy month of Shravana (Sawan). Unlike many parts of India, where the festival was primarily associated with Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva, in Vrindavan it is celebrated as a festival of the divine love of Sri Radha and Lord Krishna.

A major highlight of Hariyali Teej was the celebration at the Banke Bihari Temple, where Lord Banke Bihari gave the rare Jhulan Darshan. The temple was beautifully decorated with flowers and greenery as thousands of devotees gathered to witness the special darshan amid devotional music and chanting.

Devotional Atmosphere

The streets of Vrindavana were filled with devotion as women dressed in green traditional attire, devotees sang Radha-Krishna bhajans, and temple bells and conch shells echoed throughout the town. Pilgrims also participated in parikrama and visited the sacred temples, creating a vibrant spiritual atmosphere.
