The sacred Alandi to Pandharpur Palkhi carrying the padukas of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj will begin its 17-day foot pilgrimage and is scheduled to reach Pandharpur on July 24, ahead of the Ashadhi Ekadashi 2026 celebrations.
Lakhs of Warkaris from Maharashtra and across India are expected to participate in the Pandharpur Wari 2026, undertaking the sacred foot pilgrimage while chanting “Gyanoba Mauli Tukaram” and the name of Lord Vitthal to the rhythmic beats of the tal and mridangam. Throughout the journey, devotees sing traditional abhangas and bhajans, creating an atmosphere of profound devotion and spiritual unity.
Despite heavy rainfall causing the Indrayani River to overflow and submerging all four bridges in Alandi, the Sant Dnyaneshwar Palkhi 2026 will depart as scheduled. Devotees have been advised to follow the instructions of the local administration and the Palkhi organizers for a safe pilgrimage.
