According to temple authorities, the restoration project was undertaken as part of a heritage conservation initiative supported by the Maharashtra Government and the Archaeology Department. The work focused on preserving the temple’s historical and religious significance while improving infrastructure and visitor facilities.
During the closure period, repair and beautification work was carried out in various sections of the temple complex, including the temple premises and surrounding areas. The Chinchwad Devasthan Trust stated that special attention was given to preserving the temple’s ancient architectural features while ensuring better amenities for pilgrims.
Temple officials noted that several improvements have been introduced to provide devotees with a safer, more comfortable, and spiritually enriching darshan experience. The upgraded facilities are expected to accommodate the large number of pilgrims who visit the shrine throughout the year.
To mark the reopening, special religious ceremonies, including Maha Ganapati Yagya, Sahasravartan, Mahaprasad distribution, and Bhajan programs, have been organized. A festive atmosphere has returned to the temple, with devotees eagerly gathering to seek the blessings of Lord Chintamani Ganpati after the completion of the restoration work.
The reopening of the temple is expected to boost pilgrimage activities on the Ashtavinayak circuit, attracting devotees from across Maharashtra and other parts of the country. Temple authorities have expressed satisfaction with the completion of the conservation project and welcomed devotees back to the sacred shrine.
