Tirtha Yatra concludes its maiden Kailash Mansarovar Yatra on Jul 31st, 2025, attended by 47 Yatris across Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
Mount Kailash or Kailash Parvata is the most sacred mountain on this planet Earth. It is revered as the abode of Lord Shiva and is also known as Kubera’s Kailash. In fact, this very mountain is the manifestation of Lord Shiva. Hence every follower of Sanatana Dharma wants to have darshan of Kailash for at least once in a lifetime.
Devotees undertake Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, an arduous pilgrimage to offer their respects to sakshat Mahadeva and Mother Parvati. Just a glimpse of this sacred mountain, cleanses one off the sins accumulated in every lifetime. In front of the mountain, it is just surrender to Lord Shiva.
This sacred journey was on a full stop for Indian Citizens from the year 2019 to 2025. Finally, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra resumed for Indians from Jun 23, 2025. As the yatra opened for Indians, Tirtha Yatra also conducted its maiden Kailash Mansarovar Yatra which was long due for 5 years.
This maiden tour was led by Sri Agrani Krishna Dasa with the support of Sri Panduranga Dasa and was joined by 47 yatris from Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The tour began on July 15, 2025, however due to delay in the VISA issuances, the tour got delayed by 4 days during which the Yatris were taken to the ancient temples of Kathmandu which otherwise are not visited by anyone else.
Since the Kyirong bridge was washed away due to flash floods, the Kailash Mansarovar Tour was organized through Kodari border. On the Amavasya day, the group visited Mansarovar, a sacred lake, which was created from the mind of Lord Brahma. It is also revered as one of the Shaktipeethas where the hand of Sati Devi fell. Mansarovar is one of the five holy lakes of Akhanda Bharata Bhumi where every Sanatani must take a holy dip at least once.
Tarpana, sankalpa prokshana and an elaborate Rudrabhisheka were facilitated for the yatris on the banks of Mansarovar along with a sacred bath from the waters of Mansarovar. Later devotees were taken on a parikrama of the Kailash Parvata which took three days to complete. After the completion of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, yatris were brought safely to Kathmandu, later to depart to their respective cities.
By the blessings of Mahadeva, not even a single devotee fell sick or had any illness during the tour. Every yatri’s health was monitored every day to ensure immediate medical remedy. Sattvic food was served all throughout the yatra, with comfortable stay and transport. This yatra was a transformative journey for the yatris, on their path to spiritual realization.

I was fortunate to visit Mansarovar Kailash in June 2019, which I subsequently understood that it was the last year of the yatra.
