Vyasa Gaddi, also known as Vyasa Peetha, is the revered site dedicated to the great sage Veda Vyasa, who composed the great epic Mahabharata. It is situated in the serene Naimisharanya of Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh, Bharat.
Vyasa Gaddi is an exact spot beneath a centuries-old banyan tree, under which Sage Veda Vyasa composed the eighteen Puranas.
Veda Vyasa, also known as Krishna Dwapayana, sat under this banyan tree; thus, this sacred site came to be known as Vyasa Gaddi. The word ‘Gaddi’ means ‘seat.’ Hence, the term “Vyasa Gaddi” translates to “Seat of Vyasa.”
