Varaha Jayanti 2026 Celebrations in Varaha Temples Across Bharat

It is observed on the Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the Bhadrapada month according to the Vedic calendar. It is mainly observed by Vaishnavas who observe fasts, visit temples, and perform special puja, abhisheka, charity, and other devotional activities. Devotees worship Bhagwan Varaha for overall well-being, spiritual upliftment, prosperity, and peace.

Temples Celebrating Varaha Jayanti 2026

There are several prominent temples across the sacred land of Bharat, where Bhagwan Varaha is worshiped with special rituals and devotional and cultural programs.

Special Abhishekam: On this auspicious day, the temple priest performs the abhisheka of deities with sacred water, honey, milk, curd, and coconut water. Additionally, the

deities are adorned with silk drapes, flowers, and ornaments.

Kalasha Sthapana: A metal or clay pot is wrapped with red cloth and filled with water and decorated with mango leaves. Coconut is installed to invoke the Deity’s presence.

Homas and Pujas: At Varaha temples, homas and pujas are performed. Vishnu Sahasranama or Varaha stotras are recited.

Spiritual Discourse: The temple organizes spiritual discourse on how Bhagwan Varaha defeated demon Hiranyaksha and saved Bhudevi.

Naivedyam: Special Naivedyam is offered to the Bhagwan Varaha on this auspicious day.

Also, the Utsava Murty is taken out for a procession around the temple, along with devotional music, Vedic chants, and sounds of different musical instruments.
