₹3,300 Crore in Donations Audited

According to temple administration officials, the Trust received approximately ₹3,300 crore through public donations. The accounts were audited by external auditor’s M/s V. Shankar Aiyer & Co., officials said.

The administration stated that major financial transactions were carried out through established banking channels and that major expenditures did not involve cash transactions.

₹1,800 Crore for Temple Construction

Officials have cited approximately ₹1,800 crore spent on temple construction and around ₹400 crore allocated for land acquisition. According to the officials, these major transactions were conducted through proper banking channels.

The figures form part of the financial details cited by officials while explaining the utilisation of donations received by the Trust.

Cash Theft Case Under Investigation

The audit of the Trust’s accounts is separate from the investigation into alleged thefts during the cash-counting process. Officials have stated that incidents of alleged pilferage occurred while donations were being counted.

Legal action has been initiated against individuals suspected of involvement in the alleged theft. The investigation has also raised questions regarding security, supervision and procedures followed during cash counting.

Audit Offers Financial Clarity

The audit findings are expected to provide greater clarity regarding the accounting and utilisation of Ram Mandir donations. Meanwhile, the alleged cash-theft incidents remain subject to investigation by the authorities.
