Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple Introduces New Darshan System After 100 Years

The plan has been implemented ahead of the festival, taking into account the heavy pilgrims rush expected during the festival.

This new darshan system has been implemented after nearly 100 years to manage the crowd. The devotees can have the darshan of Lord Omkareshwar from a distance of around
10 ft instead of having darshan near the garbhagriha.

The main objective of this new darshan system is to make the darshan experience easier, smoother, more efficient and better organised during the auspicious month of Shravan, when the temple witnesses huge influx of devotees.

Key Features of New Darshan System

General devotees who wish to have the darshan of Lord Omkareshwar can enter through the Sukdev Muni gate, walk up the stairs, and have the darshan from a distance of around 10-feet away from the garbhagriha. This reduces overall the total wait time by 60 to 75 minutes.

The new system has increased the capacity of devotees having darshan per minutes. It has imcreased from 35 people per minute to 100 people per minute.

Ticket Counters Shifted

The quick-darshan and protocol ticket counters have been moved to the Brahmapuri parking area to reduce crowding and congestion around the main temple complex.

Strict one-way system implemented by the temple administration improves overall crowd management and ensure the safety of devotees. It allows the temple to perform regular rituals without disruption.

The temple authorities have requested devotees to follow the updated darshan system and cooperate with them as well as the security personnel.
