The festivities begin in the early hours of the morning with Suprabhata Seva, during which the Lord is awakened through the chanting of sacred hymns and prayers. Special abhisheka is then performed using holy substances such as milk, curd, honey, sandalwood paste, turmeric, and sacred water, accompanied by Vedic recitations.
Following the abhisheka, Lord Yoga Narasimha Swamy is adorned with exquisite flower garlands, silk garments, ornaments, and a grand alankara, offering devotees a spiritually uplifting darshan. Throughout the day, Vedic scholars recite the Vedas, Divya Prabandham, and Narasimha stotras, while devotional bhajans and hymns fill the temple premises with a sacred atmosphere.
The celebrations conclude with Maha Mangalarati and the distribution of prasadam to devotees. The annual observance reflects the rich spiritual heritage and centuries-old Sri Vaishnava traditions that continue to thrive in Melukote, drawing devotees from across the region to seek the blessings of Lord Yoga Narasimha Swamy.
