The project is being developed on a dry island near Vontimitta as part of a larger Ramayana-themed spiritual and tourism park. Designed to celebrate the cultural and mythological heritage of the Ramayana, the park will feature various attractions that narrate important episodes and characters from the epic. The towering statue of Jambavan will serve as the centerpiece of the development.
Construction of the statue is already underway, with scaffolding and structural work progressing steadily. The statue depicts Jambavan holding a spear, adorned with traditional ornaments and a crown, symbolizing strength, wisdom, and devotion—qualities associated with the revered character in the epic.
Officials and tourism planners believe the project will significantly boost religious and heritage tourism in the region. Located close to the famous Vontimitta Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple, the new attraction is expected to draw pilgrims, tourists, and devotees from across the country.
Once completed, the statue and the Ramayana park are likely to transform Vontimitta into an important spiritual tourism destination, offering visitors a unique blend of mythology, architecture, and cultural storytelling while giving a strong push to Kadapa’s growing tourism landscape.
