The grandest celebrations are held at Barsana, the birthplace of Sri Radha. The famous Sri Radha Rani Temple, situated on Brahma Hill, is beautifully decorated with flowers and lights for the festival. Devotees gather in large numbers to seek darshan, participate in special pujas and sing bhajans glorifying Radha Rani.
On Radha Ashtami, temples across Vrajbhumi conduct abhishekam, mangala aarti, shringar and special bhog offerings. The divine form of Radha Rani is adorned in beautiful garments and jewellery, while devotees participate in devotional singing and chanting.
Vrindavan also witnesses special celebrations at temples associated with Radha and Krishna. Devotees visit temples such as Banke Bihari Temple, Radha Vallabh Temple and Radha Raman Temple, offering prayers and participating in devotional programmes.
In Nandgaon, Govardhan and other parts of Vraja, the festival is marked by bhajans, kirtans, processions and community celebrations. The sacred atmosphere of Vrajbhumi becomes especially vibrant as devotees chant the names of Radha and Krishna.
The celebrations extend across Nandgaon, Radhakund, Govardhan and Mathura, where devotees visit sacred places associated with Radha and Krishna. Many pilgrims also perform parikrama, chant Radha-Krishna naam and participate in devotional singing.
Radha Ashtami is considered an important festival in the Vaishnava tradition. For devotees, the occasion is an opportunity to seek the blessings of Sri Radha Rani and deepen their devotion to Radha-Krishna.
