According to Government Order No. 321-HOME of 2026, issued on June 1, 2026, the restriction will remain in force from July 1, 2026, until the completion of the yatra. The order covers both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes leading to the sacred Amarnath Cave Shrine.
With helicopter services unavailable, devotees will need to undertake the pilgrimage through traditional means. Pilgrims can travel on foot or use ponies, palkis, and porter services available along the route.
