According to the darshan schedule announced for March 3 by the management committee of Banke Bihari Temple, the temple doors will open at 6:15 AM and close at 8:30 AM in the morning. In the evening, darshan will resume at 8:00 PM and continue until 10:00 PM.Although the Sutak period begins nine hours before the lunar eclipse, special timings for darshan have still been arranged. Committee member Dinesh Goswami stated that discussions will be held with the temple administration regarding the matter.
Temple authorities stated that the shrine will remain closed for darshan during the eclipse period, as per religious norms. Special purification rituals will be conducted after the eclipse concludes, following which the temple doors will reopen for devotees. The revised schedule will be displayed at the temple premises and shared through official communication channels.
Devotees planning to visit Vrindavan have been advised to check the updated darshan timings in advance to avoid inconvenience. Security and crowd management arrangements have also been strengthened to ensure smooth movement once the temple reopens.
Religious scholars explain that during a lunar eclipse, temples across India often suspend regular rituals, as scriptures recommend limited activities during the eclipse phase. After the celestial event ends, sacred cleansing ceremonies are performed before resuming normal worship.
The temporary change is expected to affect a large number of pilgrims, especially those visiting during the festive season. Authorities have requested devotees to cooperate and maintain discipline while adhering to the revised darshan schedule at the Banke Bihari Temple.
