The annual Srivari Salakatla Jyeshtabhishekam will be held at the Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple from June 26 to 28, 2026. One of the most significant festivals in the Tirumala temple calendar, the three-day ritual is observed during the Jyeshta month and concludes on the auspicious Jyeshta Nakshatra day.
Also known as Abhideyaka Abhishekam, the festival is conducted at the Kalyana Mandapam in Sampangi Prakaram for the Utsava Deity Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Sridevi and Bhudevi. The ritual is performed to preserve and protect the ancient processional Deities from wear and tear caused by regular abhishekams and temple ceremonies conducted throughout the year.
As part of the Jyeshtabhishekam rituals, the golden armour of Sri Malayappa Swamy is ceremonially removed on the first day. Special homams, abhishekams, and Panchamrutha Snapana Tirumanjanam are performed before the Deity is adorned with the Vajra Kavacham (Diamond Armour).
On the second day, following the sacred bath, the Deity is decorated with the Muthyapu Kavacham (Pearl Armour). The festival concludes on the third day with the adornment of the Swarna Kavacham (Golden Armour).
The golden armour remains on the Deity throughout the year and is removed only during the next Jyeshtabhishekam. In view of the festival, TTD has cancelled Arjita Sevas including Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, and Arjita Brahmotsavam on June 28, 2026.
