According to the official festival schedule, the day’s events will commence early in the morning with the sacred ritual of Thiruther Ezhuntharulal, during which the presiding Deity will ceremoniously ascend the grand temple chariot (ther). Priests will perform the auspicious Lagnam rituals amid Vedic chants and traditional music, setting a deeply devotional tone for the day.
The highlight of the morning will be Thiruther Vadam Pidithal, where devotees will gather in large numbers to pull the majestic chariot through the temple streets.
This revered ritual is considered highly meritorious, symbolizing collective devotion, unity, and cultural pride, and is expected to draw participation from devotees across the city.
In the evening, the spiritual celebrations will continue with Thota Thirumanjanam scheduled at 9:00 PM. The ritual involves the ceremonial bathing of the Deity in a serene garden setting, accompanied by devotional hymns and traditional rites performed by temple priests.
The Thiruvallikeni Chithirai Brahmotsavam 2026 is one of the most significant annual festivals of the temple, featuring a series of elaborate rituals, processions, and vahanam services over several days, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country.
A similar replica of the Therottam will also be enacted by young children behind the temple chariot, a heartwarming tradition that deserves appreciation as it helps pass on devotion to the next generation.
Devotees are expected to gather in large numbers tomorrow to witness and participate in the grand Therottam, marking a key highlight of the Brahmotsavam celebrations.
