This new stunning glass skywalk has been built to replace the old Lakshman Jhula, which was shut down to visitors following safety measures. It connects Tapovan in the Tehri Garhwal district to Jonk in the Pauri Garhwal district, offering a panoramic view of the sacred Ganga and surrounding Himalayan regions.
Built with advanced engineering and state-of-the-art safety features, the glass skywalk offers visitors a safe, thrilling, memorable and unique experience while preserving an important crossing over the Ganga.
This rigid structure is constructed using 12-mm-thick multi-layered tempered glass panels. The bridge has been designed to withstand heavy footfall while ensuring exceptional strength, durability, and long-term reliability.
Bajrang Setu in Rishikesh is built at the estimated cost of Rs 60-70 crore. The bridge measures 132 metres in length and 8 metres in width; it is one of the marvels of India’s skilled engineering.
It provides a 5-metre-wide central steel lane for two-wheelers and is accessible throughout the clock. The transparent glass skywalk on either side is accessible for the public only during the designated working hours.
PWD has implemented SOPs to ensure smooth operation, maintenance, and public safety. The plan also includes additional features like cleanliness, crowd management, and entry-exit regulations. 48 people will be deployed to work in three shifts to oversee the overall operations.

Visitors who are interested in visiting this landmark bridge should purchase the entry ticket. It is managed by the PWD’s Standard Operating Procedure. The money will be used for the bridge’s maintenance, operation, cleanliness, and safety.
