Devotees planning the Amarnath Yatra this year should note that registrations have officially opened with updated safety guidelines. The annual pilgrimage will begin on July 3, 2026, and continue until late August in Jammu and Kashmir.
Authorities have made it mandatory for pilgrims to submit a valid health certificate during the registration process. Given the high-altitude trek and challenging weather conditions, the certificate must be issued by an authorized doctor or recognized medical institution.
The registration fee has been set at ₹150 per permit. Devotees can apply through designated bank branches, including Punjab National Bank. Group registrations are also permitted, allowing 5 to 30 pilgrims to register together for convenience.
Pilgrims can choose between the Baltal route and Pahalgam route, both leading to the sacred cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Authorities are setting up help desks at registration centers to assist applicants and ensure a smooth process.
Foreign pilgrims must submit additional documents, including passport details, along with the medical certificate. Officials have advised all yatris to carry valid ID proof and strictly follow safety guidelines during the journey.
With the yatra dates announced, pilgrims are encouraged to complete registration early and prepare for a safe and spiritually enriching experience.
