Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple Observed Perunthamruthu Pooja on Karkidakam 1

Dedicated to Lord Sri Padmanabha (Lord Vishnu), the elaborate rituals commenced around 2:00 AM. The highlight of the observance was the Perunthamruthu Naivedyam, a grand offering made during the Ucha Pooja (midday worship). Another important ritual, the Kalabhabhishekam, was performed by priests of the Tharananellur family, who ceremonially anointed the deity with sandalwood paste using 81 golden pots, continuing a centuries-old temple tradition.

The Maha Naivedyam included the famous Ratnapayasam, five varieties of Pradhaman, traditional Kerala curries, rice preparations, and seasonal fruits, all of which were offered to the deity before being distributed as prasadam to devotees.

Morning Darshan

Devotees strictly adhered to the temple’s traditional dress code, with men wearing mundu (dhoti) without a shirt and women dressed in sarees or other approved traditional attire.
