According to the new guidelines, separate darshan timings will be allocated for elderly pilgrims aged 70 years and above, as well as differently abled devotees. The special darshan facility will be available twice daily during morning and evening hours, with dedicated half-hour slots reserved exclusively for them.
Officials stated that the move has been introduced to ensure a smoother and more comfortable pilgrimage experience, especially amid the heavy rush of devotees during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra 2026 season. Elderly pilgrims seeking access to the special darshan facility will be required to produce valid Aadhaar identification for age verification.
The initiative is expected to significantly reduce waiting time and crowd-related difficulties for senior citizens and devotees with disabilities. Temple authorities and local administration have also been instructed to provide better crowd management, assistance services, and security arrangements around the temple premises.
Every year, lakhs of devotees visit Kedarnath and Badrinath temples in Uttarakhand to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. The newly introduced special darshan system is being widely appreciated by pilgrims and religious organizations across the country.
