Organized under the supervision of the Government of India, the annual yatra draws thousands of pilgrims seeking the blessings of Mount Kailash and the holy Mansarovar Lake in Tibet.

Regarded as the divine abode of Lord Shiva, Mount Kailash holds immense religious significance for Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and followers of the Bon tradition. Pilgrims believe the yatra brings spiritual purification and divine blessings.
Applications are open for eligible Indian citizens through the official portal. Due to limited slots, selection will be conducted through a computerized draw system. Medical fitness is mandatory because of the high-altitude Himalayan terrain.
The yatra is expected to take place through the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim, subject to weather and administrative approvals. Pilgrims will also undergo health screenings and acclimatization before the journey begins.
