ISKCON Bangalore’s Grand Brahmotsava Celebration Begin

ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Rajajinagar will host Sri Brahmotsava from April 1 to April 12, 2026, commemorating the 29th year since the Lord’s divine manifestation in 1997.

It is an important annual festival celebrated during Chaitra-masa (April–May) to commemorate the divine appearance of the Deities at Hare Krishna Hill. In 2026, this grand celebration will take place

The Supreme Lord possesses a transcendental form of eternity, knowledge, and bliss (sat–cit–ananda), which cannot be perceived through material senses.

Through the Deity form, however, devotees are given the opportunity to serve, purify their hearts, and progress spiritually beyond the influence of the three gunas—sattva, rajas, and tamas.

The festival begins with preparatory rituals such as Vainateya Homa, Vishwaksena Aradhana, and Ankurarpana, performed to invoke auspiciousness. It officially commences with Dhvaja Arohana, the ceremonial hoisting of the Garuda flag, inviting celestial beings to participate.

Each morning features a Brahmotsava Homa with Vedic chanting, while evenings are marked by vibrant processions of Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra on beautifully decorated vahanas, accompanied by kirtans. Artistic offerings such as music, dance, and theatrical performances enrich the devotional ambiance of the celebrations.

A major highlight is the Brahma Rathotsava, where the Deities ride in a grand wooden chariot, followed by special rituals like Churna Abhisheka and Theppotsava.

The festival concludes with Dolotsava and Dhvaja Avarohana. Devotees from across the country gather to experience divine joy and offer seva during this sacred celebration.
