Rama Tanka
Lord Rama gave 6,00,000 varahas (gold coins) to the Golconda ruler Abul Hasan Qutb Shah to secure the release of Bhakta Ramadasa. Even today, one such coin is preserved in the Bhadrachalam temple.
On the occasion of Sri Rama Pattabhishekam, a gold coin is fashioned into a pendant, attached to a chain, and ceremonially offered to Lord Rama.
When is Pattabhishekam Celebrated?
In many temples, a nine-day Ramayana Navaha begins on Chaitra Pratipada (Ugadi), culminating on the tenth day with the grand Sri Rama Pattabhishekam on Chaitra Shukla Dashami. This sacred tradition is followed in the same manner at Bhadrachalam.
