According to official sources, the President arrived at the 13th-century Shakti Peetha around 9:50 am, offered prayers at the Singhadwara, and performed the shraddha ceremony to honour her ancestors. She made traditional offerings, including a silver cow, and gave dakshina to eleven Brahmins. The 45-minute ritual was conducted by temple priests under the guidance of the chief priest.
After the rituals, President Murmu offered prayers at the Biraja Temple for about 20 minutes and later reviewed the progress of the Maa Biraja Temple development project, which includes restoration works and new visitor facilities.
One of the priests later said that the President had invited the priests who conducted the ritual to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Extensive security was in place with around 600 personnel deployed. Public darshan was temporarily suspended, schools in Jajpur town were closed, and large crowds gathered to witness the visit.
The President later continued with other engagements as part of her official tour of Odisha.
