The proposed temple will be built close to the Suvarna Soudha with financial support from the Srivani Trust. TTD Chairman B. R. Naidu is likely to visit the location soon to review and finalize the construction plans.
The upcoming temple will be designed in the traditional South Indian architectural style, reflecting the grandeur of the iconic Tirumala temple. With this project, TTD seeks to expand its mission of preserving Sanatana Dharma while providing devotees across the country with access to authentic spiritual experiences.
Belagavi, known for its cultural and historical importance, has been chosen strategically due to its connectivity and growing population of devotees. Once completed, the temple is expected to become a major pilgrimage hub in Karnataka, attracting lakhs of visitors every year.
Apart from the main shrine dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, the temple complex will also feature temples for Goddess Padmavati and other deities, along with facilities such as yagnashalas, meditation halls, and cultural centers. TTD is also planning to provide amenities like accommodation, dining halls for free prasadam distribution, and spaces for Vedic learning.
Speaking on the project, TTD officials emphasized that the new temple will help ease the heavy rush at Tirumala, particularly during Brahmotsavams and peak festival seasons. Devotees who are unable to travel long distances will now be able to offer prayers and perform rituals in Belagavi itself, making it more convenient for families and the elderly.
The temple’s foundation stone is expected to be laid soon, and the construction will follow strict adherence to Agama Shastra traditions. Once inaugurated, it will stand as a symbol of devotion, unity, and cultural heritage, further strengthening the spiritual landscape of Karnataka.
With this move, the Venkateswara Temple in Belagavi is poised to become not just a place of worship but also a center of religious tourism, boosting the local economy and offering devotees an opportunity to experience the divine grace of Lord Balaji closer to home.
