Vaidyanath Temple, Parli

This Shiva Linga possesses immense medicinal powers and gracefully blesses those who pray with a pure heart and extreme devotion. Devotees who perform abhishekam and offer Bilva leaves will be cured of all kinds of ailments.

The uniqueness of the temple is that the devotees can touch the Shiva Linga and can perform abhishekam to the linga using Bilva leaves. This imparts immense mental strength, emotional balance, and inner calm to the devotees.

Mahadwara, or the main gate of the temple, is facing east and brass-plated. It features a minaret-like structure, often referred to as a prachi or gawaksha, which serves as a window. To reach the temple, located atop, stairs are available.

Later, it was reconstructed by Ahalya Bai Holkar in 1706 AD, the queen of the Maratha.

The churning of the ocean was a comprehensive process. During the Samudra Mathana, the churning of the divine oceans, the devas and asuras joined together in coordination to extract the divine nectar of immortality, or Amrita. Fourteen gems emerged out of Samudra Mathana. It included Dhanvantari and Amrit.

Lord Vishnu swiftly seized the Amrita from the demons. He seized Amrita from the demons and concealed them within a Shiva Linga. The demons were very much angered by this act. They rushed to the temple and tried to break the Shiva Linga. During this event, a spark of bright light emerged from it. Frightened by this, they fled the spot.

This is the place where Lord Vishnu served amrita to the devas and imparted them immortality. Thus, this village was popularly known as Vaijayanthi, and therefore the temple as Parli Vaidyanath.

Shravana Maasa: This is the most sacred month dedicated to Lord Vaidyanath Ji. Every Monday in the month of Shravana is considered highly auspicious. During this holy month, the whole village of Parli is echoed by the chant of the Rudra Mantra, which elevates the spiritual aura of the place to higher vibrations.

Chaitra Padwa: This festival is marked as the New Year in the month of Chaitra. Also known as Gudi Padwa, it is celebrated mainly in the regions of Maharashtra.

Tripuri Purnima: This festival commemorates Lord Shiva’s victory over the Rakshasa Tripurasura. The temple is lit with many diyas, which adds to the charm of the sacred site.

Vijayadashami: Special pujas are performed to celebrate Vijayadashami, celebrating the victory of good over evil.

Tulja Bhavani Temple: Tulja Devi is the powerful Deity located in Dharashiv district in Maharashtra. She is the Kuladevi of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja, known for his valor and leadership.

Yogeshwari Devi Temple: It is one of the Shakti Peethas, located in Ambajogai, Beed district, Maharashtra. The main deity of the temple is Yogeshwari Devi (goddess of Yoga).

By Air: The nearest domestic and international airport is Aurangabad Airport, connecting major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, and more. From here, you can hire a taxi or a cab to reach the temple.

By Railway: Parli Vaidyanath Railway Station is the nearest railway station, connected to major cities like Hyderabad, Nizambad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Shirdi, and more. From here, it is only 10 minutes of travel if you are using a taxi. Also, bus facilities are available.

By Road: It is well connected by road to major cities like Solapur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. Frequent bus services operate regularly along this route.
