Puri, Odisha – August 23, 2025:
Odisha Government Confirms Queue System Implementation
Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed the development, stating that the system would streamline temple entry and reduce congestion during peak hours. The implementation will begin after the formation of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, expected by September 3 or 4, 2025.
The committee’s first meeting will take up key issues such as relocating the Hundi from the Jagamohan area and finalizing the logistics for the queue system. The temple administration has already prepared the infrastructure, making the temple ready for this much-awaited transformation.

Benefits of the Queue System for Devotees
- A peaceful and organized darshan experience
- Reduced congestion and waiting time
- Stronger security measures inside the temple premises
- Improved temple management during major religious events
Officials are confident that this modernized system will bring discipline without disrupting the spiritual traditions of the Jagannath Temple.

Requested to management to stop bribery to pujari for darshan.

Just a small request to our beloved temple committee — it would be really wonderful if we could have better arrangements for our senior citizens and also make the temple more accessible for our differently abled devotees. Simple things like ramps, handrails, and seating spots can make a big difference so everyone can enjoy darshan peacefully. ✨

The temple administration must study the Q management system in many other busy temples to work out a smooth… comfortable…stampede free… continuously moving system.
There should be consideration for senior citizens…challanged and pregnant ladies.
Gates for entry nd exit to and from the temple should be separate.
There is presently free for all inside the main mandir hall once you are able to enter after a lot of struggle. It must be streamlined nd regulated..
Diya stands… daan patra inside the main mandir be relocated .
Darshan timing slots be introduced for better crowd control and management.
People are spending hours inside the Mandir.
Entry nd exit time should be regulated and people must not be allowed to sit in groups around the main temple inside.
Lastly the Ananda Bazar area has to be upgraded. Presently it is dirty ..slippery…free for all and anywhere everywhere.
Eating Prasad in the Ananda Bazar Premises be discontinued. Another suitable area be catered for by creating a Ananda Bhavan or Covered space separate from the Bazar.

Also, they need to ensure cleanliness. People have paan and spit everywhere, even inside the temple premises. I felt sad for this kind of condition. I have never seen in any temple. So please don’t allow those who have paan or gutka etc.
Jai jagannath

It will go good if there is a separate queue for differently abled children and adults for darshan. Such person with their attendee family members should be allowed is there. It will make their life easy and ensure proper darshan of Lord Jagannath especially during special occasions and holiday season when many pilgrims teach there.

Without Toilets, the Present System is already a pain for the Senior Citizens and Ladies. Hope the New System will address this issue before going ahead with the Plan for New Queueing System.
Better to have a Queue Complex like that one of Thirumala Lord Venkateswara Temple.

It is disappointing and discouraged to go there for Rath Yatra and treated badly by the police. Moreover it’s dangerous due to suffocating atmosphere. There’s complete lack of discipline and greedy pandas make it even more difficult to keep spiritual feelings. Pandas are standing there expecting large bribe to see the Lord. How has the government allowed these greedy pandas to use their positions to exploit the public

Since a new queue system is considered, I would also request for the Senior Citizens and people with knee or walking problem. I am presently at Puri and witnessed a massive problem for the Senior Citizens and with walking difficulty. Also it should be ensured that all disciples are provided with same facilities as some of the Sevayats take advantage and provide special privilege to few.

Temple is nice, but darshan system is not good and all pujari s are hungry for money

“It is indeed a good initiative by the Temple Committee, but it should also be kept in mind that senior citizens and women should be given higher priority to ensure they can have a comfortable darshan.”
Ramanan Gururajan
the queue system is good news for the pilgrims and devotees of puri jagannath.
The system should be implemented like Tirumala so that all will have a fair chance of worshipping the lord in front of their eyes
