Puri, Odisha – August 23, 2025:
Odisha Government Confirms Queue System Implementation
Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan confirmed the development, stating that the system would streamline temple entry and reduce congestion during peak hours. The implementation will begin after the formation of the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee, expected by September 3 or 4, 2025.
The committee’s first meeting will take up key issues such as relocating the Hundi from the Jagamohan area and finalizing the logistics for the queue system. The temple administration has already prepared the infrastructure, making the temple ready for this much-awaited transformation.

Benefits of the Queue System for Devotees
- A peaceful and organized darshan experience
- Reduced congestion and waiting time
- Stronger security measures inside the temple premises
- Improved temple management during major religious events
Officials are confident that this modernized system will bring discipline without disrupting the spiritual traditions of the Jagannath Temple.

The new Que system should be regulated thru Application based . People should book their time of visit thru app and generate QR code.
Total strength of visit in one day should be clearly defined and accordingly Booked and allowed pilgrimage.

Yes, much needed a system, currently nothing is there, senior citizens, ladies struggle with powerful people while reaching sanctum for Darshan. Middlemen loots public and huge exploitation, loot should be dealt properly. Important factor is that, it should be made on daily basis and not just on festive days.
Queue system is must from outside temple to point of Darsan. There has to be less interference of servitors between Gods and Devotees in Puri temple and elsewhere…
The Prasad eating area has to be more clean and organised with clean sitting points and fresh prasads. In the name of tradition, there should not be compromise on hygiene and decency. Servitors should be dressed properly and conduct civil manners…
Whether the senior citizens would be allowed to have a hasslefree visit through a seperate queue? It is most important.

I humbly wish to bring to your kind attention an issue faced by many devotees during darshan at the holy Shree Jagannath Temple. While standing in the queue outside, the flow remains orderly. However, once the queue reaches in front of Lord Jagannath, the line often breaks down, leading to overcrowding and discomfort for devotees.
Unfortunately, this also creates situations where some individuals misuse the crowding to mock, push, or even physically abuse women, making the sacred experience distressing for many. This is very painful, as devotees come with pure devotion but end up feeling unsafe and uncomfortable.
Therefore, I earnestly request the temple administration to kindly introduce a proper queue structure and regulated movement system inside the temple area, especially in front of the deities, so that:
Devotees can have darshan peacefully and respectfully.
Women, children, and the elderly feel safe and protected.
The sanctity and discipline of the holy shrine is maintained.
I hope the temple authorities will kindly consider this request and take necessary steps to ensure that every devotee can have Dharshan of Mahaprabhu Jagannath with dignity and comfort.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Even myself face the same situation. The management need to be improved. There aslo need of separate entry and exit point. Also, Separate timing should be given for elderly people and Divyang. Single Que system/Ladies-Gents should be there inside premises.

It’s all drama and Fake…. Main agenda is to take “control” of Puri temple administration .
In pretext of management, the Government (on direction of western powers ) wants to destroy the spiritual significance of temple.
They want to destroy and dismantle various shaligrams planted beneath underground surface of Puri temple…
Remember it’s was Modi who gave the heinous statement and compared Temples with toilets… “Pehlay Sauchalay fir Devaalay”… To please the western powers Modi can do anything, even destroy spirituality of temples… That’s the main agenda behind drama of temple renovation… In name of renovation they want to destroy age old monuments and significant emblems planted inside the temple.

Several times , it has been announced that queue system will be implemented.
Main concern is management of crowd from Saatapahacha onwards.
Really it is next to impossible for old age people to visit temple and Darshan.
Sevayat and police earned by allowing people by passing the congestion near Saatapahacha.
It will be a great relief if the queue system implemented as announced by Honourable minister.
Jai Shree Jagannath.
