Officials have proposed a nominal minimum charge of ₹10 to curb fake or duplicate registrations, which have posed challenges in recent years. The final amount will be decided after the committee submits its report and receives approval from the Uttarakhand government.
Authorities noted that fraudulent bookings often result in overcrowding, logistical pressure, and safety concerns along the pilgrimage routes. Introducing a small
Char Dham Yatra registration fee is expected to ensure that only genuine pilgrims complete the online registration process, thereby improving crowd management and accountability.
