The Chief Minister explained that the purpose of this initiative is to connect society with the eternal teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and the divine pastimes of Lord Krishna. He added that the decision would inspire future generations with Sanatan values while also giving Madhya Pradesh a new identity in terms of religious tourism.
According to the government, the Shri Krishna Pathey Tirthas and Gita Bhavans will not only serve as centers for spiritual activities but will also strengthen social and cultural unity.
As per the Dashama Skanda of Bhagavata Purana, Sri Krishna performed His gurukula-lila in Ujjain of Madhya Pradesh. One of the most episodes of Sri Krishna and Sudama getting stuck into the forest occurred in Madhya Pradesh. Even today one can have darshan of a kunda created by Lord Krishna for the usage of His guru and also trees planted by Krishna and Sudama in the forest as a mark of their eternal friendship.
These two significant places connected to Sri Krishna lila, are already covered by Tirtha Yatra in its world famed Ujjain Weekend Yatra. Acharyas have also pointed that the Mucukunda’s cave in which Lord Krishna killed Kalayavana Rakshasa lies in Madhya Pradesh.
The devotees of Lord Krishna are already rejoicing on this news and welcome the move by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
