Krishna Janmabhoomi Kar Seva Rescheduled to December 6, 2026, in Mathura

Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: A proposed Kar Seva at Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura, earlier scheduled for August 9, has been rescheduled to December 6, 2026. The announcement was made on Sunday by a group of Hindu sadhus and seers led by Swami Sachchidanand Maharaj of Chitragupta Peetha.

The August 9 programme was postponed due to the ongoing Sawan month and Kanwar Yatra. According to the organisers, the period was expected to witness a large gathering of pilgrims, and they wanted to avoid inconvenience to devotees and ensure that the religious atmosphere was not disrupted.

The new date was reportedly finalised during a meeting at Chitragupta Peetha Ashram, where saints and sadhus from Vrindavan, Mathura and Haridwar discussed the proposed programme. The organisers also said that Shiv Sena supported the decision.

The development follows the postponement of the earlier August 9 programme announced by Swami Sachchidanand Maharaj as part of a campaign seeking what Hindu groups describe as the “liberation” of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. Reports at the time said the proposed mobilisation was to begin from Delhi and proceed towards Braj.

The proposed December 6 event is particularly significant because the date is associated with the 1992 Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi movement. Any planned mobilisation in Mathura on the same date is therefore likely to receive close attention from the authorities.

The Krishna Janmabhoomi–Shahi Idgah dispute remains under judicial consideration, with multiple petitions concerning the disputed site pending before the courts. Recent proceedings have also included efforts to explore a settlement through the Lok Adalat process.
