Officials have directed that every ambulance deployed on the Char Dham route must obtain a valid fitness certificate from the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Authorities emphasized that no vehicle will be allowed to operate without proper mechanical inspection and certification.
All ambulances must be equipped with Advanced Life Support (ALS) systems, oxygen cylinders, emergency medicines, trauma kits, and other critical care facilities. GPS tracking systems will also be installed to enable real-time monitoring and faster emergency response during the yatra.
Strengthening Emergency Medical Services
Currently, 22 ambulances are operational across the district, with at least one deployed in each development block. The administration has requested three additional ambulances from the Uttarakhand government to handle the anticipated surge in pilgrims during peak Char Dham Yatra 2026 season.
Mobile and tablet devices will be provided inside ambulances to ensure seamless coordination between medical teams and control rooms. Authorities are focusing on pilgrim safety, disaster preparedness, and improved healthcare infrastructure along routes leading to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
With lakhs of devotees expected, the government aims to ensure smooth medical management and timely emergency assistance throughout Char Dham Yatra 2026.
