Museum Highlights & Design
The museum is located along the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama route, opposite Kashiram Colony, and spans 9,850 square feet across two floors, constructed at a cost of ₹6 crore. It accommodates 50 lifelike wax statues of major Ramayana characters—such as Ram, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman, Ravana, and Vibhishan—depicting key episodes from birth and childhood to exile, Lanka Dahan, and the final battle.
The ground floor will present scenes from Lord Ram’s early life until Sita’s swayamvar, while the first floor is dedicated to exile, abduction, war sequences, and Lanka’s destruction. 3D lighting, immersive atmospheric effects, and dramatized visuals aim to bring the epic’s narrative to life.
Visitor Experience, Access & Revenue
The fully air-conditioned facility maintains a steady 22 °C to preserve the wax figures and enhance visitor comfort. Entry will be priced at ₹100, and at any time, the museum will admit up to 100 visitors.
A grand Deity of Lord Ganesha welcomes entrants, and a special selfie point next to the child Ram wax statue offers photo opportunities. 12% of the museum’s revenue is slated for the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation, aiding city development.
Museum development was carried out in collaboration with Sunil Wax Museum, a Kerala-based firm known for wax museums in Lonavala and Thiruvananthapuram.
Inauguration & Significance
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji is scheduled to formally inaugurate the museum on October 19, 2025, coinciding with the Deepotsav festivities in Ayodhya. The unveiling is part of a broader strategy to position Ayodhya as a global religious and cultural hub, amplifying the city’s spiritual identity beyond the Ram Temple.
