The splendid Garuda, a symbol of devotion, service, and strength, was crafted by Udupi’s renowned jewellers The Abharan — a brand synonymous with fine craftsmanship and heritage. The offering was made by Burde Madhukar Kamath, Founder Director of The Original Abharan, along with his sons and grandsons Satvik Kamath and Akarsh Kamath.
Temple officials hailed the event as a moment of spiritual and artistic significance, marking another glorious chapter in the temple’s rich history. The golden Garuda will be featured in major temple processions and annual festivals, enhancing the grandeur of divine rituals at Sri Madananteshwara Temple.
Speaking to media, a temple representative said,
“This offering represents the devotion and artistry that define our cultural roots. The Garuda Vahana will serve as a divine carrier during Vishnu-related festivals and temple utsavas.”
The intricately designed Garuda stands as a masterpiece of Udupi’s traditional temple artistry, reflecting the region’s long-standing association with sculpture, jewellery, and devotional art. Visitors from across coastal Karnataka are expected to visit the temple to witness the golden creation in person.
With this remarkable addition, the Sri Madananteshwara Temple reaffirms its place as a center of divine splendor and craftsmanship — a shining blend of faith and art that continues to uplift Karnataka’s sacred legacy.
