Chakra Tirtha, a sacred circular Tirtha, is nestled on the sacred heart of Naimisharanya, Uttar Pradesh. Taking a sacred bath in the Chakra Tirtha is not just a mere custom; it is a profound act of devotion and spiritual cleansing. It is considered as the first among all the sacred tirthas in the world.

It is the sacred spot where Nemi (spokes) of Lord Brahma’s Manomaya Chakra struck the earth and hence this site came to be known as Chakra Tirtha.

Pilgrimage to Chakra Tirtha often involves rituals such as parikrama (circumambulation), Punya Snana, and performing ancestral rites. Surrounded by lush greenery, ancient temples, serene rivers, and neem trees, making it a suitable place for meditation for pilgrims.

If you perform a Punya Snana in Chakra Tirtha on an auspicious full moon (Amavasya) or new moon (Purnima) day that falls on a Monday, and offer heartfelt prayers to Sri Lalitha Devi, the presiding deity of Naimisharanya, it elevates your energy into higher spiritual vibrations. It washes away all the sins committed in this lifetime.

Sacred dip in the waters of Chakra Tirtha will defy the Nava Graha Peeda, the negative effect caused by planetary misalignment. It also eliminates the karmic cycle of 10 previous and 10 future generations.

Performing rituals here helps ancestors attain peace and moksha (liberation), fulfilling one of the highest duties in Sanatana Dharma.

Performing a Punya Snana during the auspicious days like Karthika Purnima, Magha Mela, Chaitra Navaratri, Guru Purnima, Amavasya and Purnima days holds immense spiritual merits and yields high merit.

According to history, 88,000 sages approached Lord Brahma, seeking a solution for finding the tranquil place for performing peaceful meditation without any interruption and also for other kinds of spiritual practice.

In response, Lord Brahma sent his divine disc, the Manomaya Chakra, and instructed them to follow.

As per Lord Brahma’s instruction, they followed the disc. After revolving around the entire universe several times, it finally settled on a remote spot surrounded by dense forest, which is free from all sins, and any virtuous act performed here will be multiplied tenfold.

With its tremendous force, the divine disc struck the earth with blazing speed. A powerful spring of sweet water gushed out. To control the speed of the gushing water, Lord Brahma requested Lalitha Devi to stop the fierce water.

With Her divine energy, She halted the gushing water and manifested at this spot as Lingadhaarini.

The spot where Chakra struck the earth and water gushed out came to be known as Chakra Tirtha. The water of Chakra Tirtha is sweet. The depth of the Chakra Tirtha is very deep and cannot be measured.

To disprove this, the British officials brought 1000 meters of cable and wanted to measure the depth of the Chakra Tirtha. But the cable ran out of length, and they dropped this idea.

The Chakra Tirtha, a sacred tirtha, can be visited during the following time.

Morning: 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Evening: 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The most suitable time to visit Chakra Tirtha, Naimisharanya, is during the months from October to March. The pleasant weather make your pilgrimage very comfortable.

Dashashwamedha Ghat: It is the sacred place where Lord Sri Rama performed the tenth Ashwamedha Yajna. Besides this ghat, there is a temple dedicated to Lord Sri Rama, along with his brother Lakshmana, Lord Shiva, and Goddess Janaki.

Hanuman Garhi: It is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in Uttar Pradesh, perched on a small hill.

Lalita Devi Temple: It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, dedicated to Goddess Lalitha Devi. It is the sacred place where the heart of Sati Devi fell.

Dadhichi Kunda: This is a sacred Kunda dedicated to Maharishi Dadhichi, who sacrificed his bones for Lord Indra to create Vajrayudha to defeat the demon Vritra.

Vyasa Gaddi: It is sacred place where Sage Veda Vyasa narrated many puranas, vedas to his disciples. It is located in Naimisharanya, and 1 Km away from Chakra Tirtha.

By Railway: The closest railway station is the Sitapur Junction. It is well connected to major cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Moradabad, Khairabad, and more.

By Road: It is well-connected by a road network. The Sitapur-Lucknow highway is well connected to this place.
