Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh — In a significant cultural update, the iconic Durgamma Temple in Vijayawada has announced the enforcement of a traditional dress code for all devotees beginning August 27, 2025. This new regulation aims to preserve the sanctity and spiritual atmosphere of one of Andhra Pradesh’s most revered religious sites.
According to temple authorities, only devotees wearing traditional Indian attire will be granted entry into the temple premises. The move is part of a broader initiative to reinforce cultural values and ensure respectful conduct within the sacred space.
The Durgamma Temple, known for its rich heritage and architectural beauty, draws thousands of pilgrims and tourists every month. With the new dress code in place, visitors are advised to plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
