Significance & Ritual Overview
Varalakshmi Vratham is performed on the Friday preceding Shravana Purnima and is highly significant for married women seeking blessings for family welfare, health, and prosperity. The pooja includes 16 traditional services (upacharas) such as Sankalpam, puja offerings, and Vratakatha readings based on the Skanda Purana.
Throughout the Varalakshmi Vratham, regular sevas such as Lakshmi Pooja, Unjal Seva, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva, Kalyanotsavam, as well as VIP or break darshan services, are typically suspended to ensure full attention remains on the participants of the vratam.
