The approval follows the recommendation of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, whose initiative played a key role in securing the funds for the temple’s development. The project aims to address long-standing demands from devo tees for better amenities at the hilltop shrine, located in Jagitial district.
As part of the Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple development, the new rest house will provide clean, affordable, and well-structured lodging facilities for pilgrims arriving from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and neighboring states. Temple authorities believe the project will greatly enhance the overall pilgrimage experience, especially during peak festival seasons such as Hanuman Jayanti and weekends.
The Kondagattu temple is one of the most visited Hanuman temples in South India, attracting lakhs of devotees annually. With increasing footfall, the need for improved infrastructure had become critical. The TTD-approved project is expected to ease accommodation challenges while promoting organized temple tourism.
Officials stated that construction work will begin soon after the completion of formalities, with a focus on maintaining the temple’s spiritual sanctity and architectural harmony. The development initiative also aligns with broader efforts to strengthen religious tourism and temple infrastructure across the region.
Devotees and local residents have welcomed the decision, expressing gratitude to TTD and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for prioritizing the welfare of pilgrims and supporting the growth of this historic temple.
Following TTD’s ₹35.19 crore approval, Pawan Kalyan will perform Bhumi Puja on January 3.
