Kedarnath is one of the dwadasha jyotirlingas and the highest jyotirlinga temple in the world. The temple was first established by the Pandavas and reestablished by Adi Guru Shankaracharya. Kedarnath is the birthplace of five rivers which join Mandakini and finally flow towards Devprayag. Kedarnath Jyotirlinga is the only jyotirlinga where Lord Shiva does not give darshan for six months. Adi Guru Shankaracharya took jiva samadhi at Kedarnath Dham. Lord Shiva is continuously in meditation at Kedarnath Dham.
