Set on hillocks close to the Vaishno Devi shrine, the complex is envisioned as a major spiritual landmark and tourist attraction. It will include a temple, access road, public utilities, and 50 commercial shops for local landowners who donated 41 kanals of land. The construction gained renewed momentum after a 2025 Memorandum of Understanding.
Sinha said the temple will be a “living symbol of India’s timeless culture, collective faith, resilience, and spiritual consciousness.” Pilgrims visiting the Vaishno Devi shrine are expected to also visit the new temple, creating employment opportunities, boosting local businesses, and energizing regional development.
During his visit, he also presided over the ‘Samridh Nari, Samridh Bharat’ programme at the Spiritual Growth Centre, engaging with women entrepreneurs from self-help groups (SHGs) in Reasi and surrounding districts. He highlighted the Shrine Board’s plan to expand annual procurement of puja samagri and prasad from ₹5 crore to ₹12 crore, with a future target of ₹50 crore, benefiting about 1,500 women from 20 SHGs.
Additionally, Sinha announced a Gurukul initiative to provide youth with authentic Vedic education, fostering the preservation of sacred traditions and promoting India’s cultural heritage.
