Singapore, August 2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has announced a major boost to international travel and religious tourism with the launch of direct flights from Singapore to Tirupati. The service is expected to begin operations soon, offering seamless travel for devotees and tourists heading to the famous Tirumala Tirupati temple.
The announcement was made during his address in Singapore, where the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s vision to enhance global connectivity and promote Andhra Pradesh tourism. Currently, international travelers face multiple layovers to reach Tirupati, but the new Singapore–Tirupati direct flights will save valuable time and offer greater convenience.
Tirupati: A Global Spiritual Hub
Tirupati, known as the Spiritual Capital of Andhra Pradesh, attracts millions of pilgrims every year who come to seek blessings at the world-renowned Tirumala temple of Lord Venkateswara. With the launch of this new route, devotees from Singapore and across Southeast Asia will gain easy access to one of India’s holiest shrines.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this step will not only serve religious travelers but also boost business and educational exchanges. “By improving direct connectivity, we are opening new doors for spiritual tourism, trade, and cultural ties between Andhra Pradesh and Singapore,” he said.
Boost for Tourism and Economy
Industry experts believe the direct Singapore–Tirupati flights will significantly strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s tourism sector, bringing more international visitors and investments. Travel operators expect a rise in demand for Tirupati tour packages, as the city becomes more accessible to NRIs and foreign tourists.
The initiative is also seen as a catalyst for local economic growth, creating opportunities in hospitality, transport, and allied industries. Airlines are already in discussions to finalize schedules, with the route likely to commence operations in the coming months.
A Welcome Move for Devotees and NRIs
The announcement has been warmly welcomed by devotees, the Telugu diaspora, and the travel industry. For Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) living in Singapore, the Tirupati direct flights will provide a faster and more convenient way to visit their homeland’s most sacred temple.
Once operational, this route is expected to become one of the most sought-after spiritual travel links, connecting Southeast Asia directly with Andhra Pradesh.
