The last Surya Grahana of 2025 is scheduled on September 21 – the Mahalaya Amavasya. This will be visible from New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji. The surya grahana or the solar eclipse is not visible from any place in Bharat.

Will there be Sutaka or Pataka on the Grahana Day?
As the grahana or eclipse is not visible from India, there won’t be sutaka or pataka. All the religious activities can be performed as usual.
Can Shraddha be done on the Grahana Day?
Shraddha and tarpana can be done on the Mahalaya Amavasya Day since there is no sutaka or pataka due to the solar eclipse not being visible in India. You can perform brahmana bhojana during this time.
Will the grahana affect the rashis of people in general?
Since the Surya Grahana is not visible in Bharat, it is as good as no grahana. Hence there is no need to see its effect on the horoscopes or the rashis of people. Though there are many sects who are considering this grahana to be inauspicious as there are two grahanas in a single paksha, the inauspiciousness can be seen only in the case of those countries who have witnessed both the grahanas. During the Mahabharata time, there were two grahanas in a single paksha which were visible in Bharat. They paved the way for the Kurukshetra war to begin.
Can we intensify our sadhana during the grahana time?
Generally, the sadhakas are advised to intensify their sadhana during the time of eclipse, however this recommendation is not valid for this eclipse.
