A ₹30-crore gem-studded Lord Rama Deity arrives in Ayodhya from Karnataka, adding to the spiritual significance of Ram Mandir Ayodhya and is set for installation at Angad Tila near the Sant Tulsidas Temple.
The gem-covered sculpture was transported from Karnataka to the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple complex in Ram Mandir Ayodhya, reaching the site on Tuesday, 23 Dec 2025, around 3:30 PM after travelling nearly 1,750 kilometres in a specially equipped vehicle over five to six days.
Skilled craftsmen from Thanjavur contributed to the Lord Rama Deity arrives Ayodhya with intricate details, embedding it with diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and gold that lend both spiritual depth and artistic splendour to the piece.
Once in Ayodhya, the gem-studded Sri Rama Deity will be placed at Angad Tila where it will first be unveiled and then consecrated in a ceremony expected to be attended by saints and mahants from across India — marking another historic moment as the Lord Rama Deity arrives in Ayodhya and becomes part of Ram Mandir Ayodhya’s sacred precincts.
The Deity of Sri Rama, weighing nearly five quintals, was confirmed by Trust member Dr. Anil Mishra. Its unveiling and rituals are part of the Pratishtha Dwadashi festivities marking the temple’s second anniversary from Dec 29, 2025, to Jan 2, 2026, featuring daily Abhishek, Shringar, Bhog, and Prakatya Aarti ceremonies. A Bhumi Pujan with Vedic chants was also held.
